2008 Oakland A’s Season Blog, The Exodus (39-32)

Well that’s not how you expect it to go.  Yes, Dan Haren is gooood.  We know that.  But 11-1?  Oh yeah, and Haren won the game by himself.  A three run double = more runs than the A’s scored all night.

Oh yeah, the “ACE” Joe Blanton blew up.  Well, I don’t know if you can say blow up.  Joe regularly gives up a lot of runs early in the game.  Don’t get me wrong, I love Joe.  He’s a UK guy and he goes for 110 pitches a night without (knock on wood) getting hurt.  He’s a great major league pitcher on any team because he eats up innings, but we don’t need him pitching against other teams aces.

Cold, cold night for the A’s.  Really need Smooth’s Metros to pull out a win to keep us within 3 of the Halos.  Not looking good right now but hey, what do I know?  Anyways, we will try to take the get-outta-town game tomorrow and take the series.  Looks like we’ll have Smith against Davis tomorrow.  If that’s the true starters I like our odds.  As I’ve said all year I’m a big Greg fan.  Time to rally boys, need to keep this thing rolling right so a big win tomorrow is key.  Until then, enjoy the games, enjoy some brews, and if you happen to have a Cy Young caliber pitcher with gap power available, e-mail me pronto.

Nice one smooth. Jerry Manuel gets his first win just after 1am. Which puts him, what, 46 hours on the job?

    Damion Easley… top 10… 2 outs… GONE!

    Time zings are the best.
