2008 Oakland A’s Season Blog, The Exodus (18-12)

by

Well the old ballclub pulled out a split with the Angels and pulled back to a tie for the division lead yesterday.  They broke out the bats in grand style again in a game that was similar to the first game of the series.  The real story tonight though is the A’s season blog will be going on a semi-hiatus for the next week.

We’ve been through 30 games so far (31 after tonight’s games) and had a post up every day but since 1/4 of our staff is currently on vacation we may not have daily updates this week.  We’ll see what the internet situation at the Florida condo is and the patience that the girlfriend shows for blogging wilst on vacation.

Currently, the Super 8 in Prattville, AL is full of surprises.  Our overnight stay on the way to the beach came complete with a clean room, a working TV, two microwaves (your guess is as good as mine), and most surprising, a functioning wireless internet connection.

Enough about all that.  Currently, the A’s have two on with two out in the eighth and are down one.  For TGC’s benefit, I just 2-2-and-2’d it up and we got a foul ball.  Still alive!  But there’s a strikeout.  So the A’s will need to rally in the ninth to take out the Rangers tonight.  The good news is the Halos are down to the Orioles in the 9th so we may stay in a tie for yet another day.

As previously stated, we’ll see how the updates go this week, but don’t expect the usual day-to-day updates.  We’ll get a few up this week though.  Until then, enjoy the games, enjoy some brews, and most importantly, if you have any idea why DQ’s in Alabama roll their flour in shit before applying it to their chicken strip basket strips, e-mail me pronto.
