Sweep! Sweep! Sweep! Tigs win back-to-back games

Okay maybe it’s a little much to get worked up over a 2-game-series sweep at home against the Twins, but after the way this season has started I’ll take it.

Again in dramatic comeback fashion, in the 8th, the Cardiac Cats notched their first back-to-back wins Tuesday night.  Miguel Cabrera took a step towards earning that $150+ million by knocking the game-winner into the bullpen.

Thoughts, Jimmy?

“We’ve been out of sync, hopefully these two games will get us a little better [synced] mentally, and then some pieces will start to fall into place a little better for us.”

Nate Robertson held his own pretty well before leaving in the 6th with a sore lat.  He is not expected to miss a start.  Clay Rapada picked up the win in relief and “Rollercoaster” Jones notched his 3rd save in 3 tries this season, but not before allowing the tying run on base.

Tonight, Triple-A phenom callup Armando Galarraga (2-0, 3R, 7H, 11K in 12 innings) takes on Cy Young winner fallen on hard times CC Sabathia (0-2 11.57 ERA) in the first of another 2 game series.

On the Injury front, Curtis Granderson took his first live swings in BP yesterday and could be ready to go sometime in the next few days, but will be taking things slowly and cautiously with Brandon Inge and Clete Thomas playing as more-than-capable substitutes for the moment.

One of the most intriguing things in journalism is the bracketed insert to someone’s direct quote. Who is this reporter, and what makes him think that he has the right to suggest what Jimmy was thinking? What if Coach really meant better [focused] or better [attituded], instead of being better [synced] mentally? What if the same were done with Dr. Martin Luther King? “I have a [pipe] dream,” probably wouldn’t have gone over so well.

I’d just like to add that the Cardinals are playing well.
