2008 Oakland A’s Season Blog, The Exodus (8-5)

Well you knew the old breakfast wagon couldn’t keep rollin’ forever.  The sweep in Cleveland wasn’t meant to be as the A’s fell hard to the Tribe 7-1 on Sunday afternoon.  The loss broke a 5 game win streak.

Not a lot to say looking back at the road trip so far other than the A’s have been playing well.  They’re 5-1 on the swing out Midwest and even if they drop a pair to the White Sox the road trip will have been sucessful at 5-3.  I don’t think that happens though.

Greg Smith takes on Mark Buehrle tonight.  If Greg settles down before the game this time instead of after the 1st, the Sox could be in for a long night.  Buehrle is 1-0 on the year but sports an 8+ ERA.  If the A’s get one or two off of him in the early going Smith may have enough confidence to get ’em over the plate and roll deep into the game.  Here’s hoping that all comes true and the bullpen mops up for an easy A’s win tonight.  Until next time, enjoy the games, enjoy the brews, and most importantly, if you know an outlet store for Batman costumes that won’t make my junk look all weird when I wear them, e-mail me pronto.
