TGC’s second-hand interview: Alabama Football

by

This is my second-hand interview with Tennessee’s next opponent, the Crimson Tide, right in the heat of Bama week.  These are actual quotes from Alabama football players and coaches.

WR Matt Caddell: The Tennessee game is always a special game. It’s one of the biggest out-of-state rivalries, but in other ways it seems like whenever any other SEC school plays Alabama it’s a rivalry.

TGC: Yes, Matt, I too have difficulty calling this series a rivalry due to the 2-10 record UA sports against the Vols, and the 1-3 record the most recent games in Tuscaloosa.

MC: It’s such a tradition that it being the third weekend in October it gets the fans riled up, and Alabama fans always want to beat Tennessee and Auburn.

TGC:  Look, I want to spend the majority of the winter months with Scarlett Johansson tucked in a bungalow in Northern Alaska with nothing but a sleeping bag and a bar of soap;  that don’t mean its gonna happen.  Go ahead and want in one hand and drool in the other, see which gets filled first.  More importantly, I heard you had a little incident with JP Wilson in the shower… Did that work out okay?

MC: He was doing a good job on putting the ball where it needs to be.

TGC:  I guess the bond between teammates in Alabama is one of the things I’ll never understand.  Thank God.

TGC: Wallace, any insight you can add to the shower discussion?

DE Wallace Gilberry:  It poses a big challenge… the few sacks.  He is a guy who definitely can get the ball away before he goes down. Its a very well put together unit.

TGC:  Jesus Christ how do you guys ever get any practicing done around here?

RB Terry Grant: We don‘t like it but everything happens for a reason so it‘s a lesson learned.

TGC: Terry, you’re just a freshman right?  They’ve got you into all this freaky mess?

Grant: It’s been making my heart jump out of my chest for the past couple of weeks.

FB Baron Huber: Yeah, my family is..now except for one uncle. We tried to get him to convert over.

JP Wilson: The whole team is getting involved in it.

TGC:  Good God, do the coaches know?

LB Darrin Mustin:  Like coach said, when you coast, you go down.

TGC: I bet he did… I really bet he did

Well there you have it sportsfans.  Tennessee is on the field getting ready for the TSIO game, Bama is wrestling in the shower.

Place your bets wisely.
