“Bueller, Bueller, Bueller, Bueller, Bueller….”

by

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen APIAS.net is ditching school and going straight Ferris Bueller style this weekend.  That’s right, the boys at APIAS.net will be heading north to the Windy City for 3 days of bars, booze and baseball.

Wrigley Field

When asked for a comment about this weekends trip TheGoldfishCowboy offered this…

“To be honest with you, I’ll call it a win if we can get on and off the train somewhere relatively close to the hotel.”

You might find this funny had a similar situation not occured the last time APIAS.net ventured northward for a weekend in Chicago.

Be sure to scan the friendly confines of Wrigley for us Saturday afternoon as the Cubs host the Brewers (down the right field line, 30 or so rows back).  If you can’t make it out to the game at least look for us on FOX during the game.  We won’t be the annoying frat guys wearing pop collar Polo’s with a cell phones attached to our ear waving at the camera looking like a total douche-bags.  We will be the drunk guys three rows up making fun of them.

Check out APIAS.net throughout the weekend for updates and maybe even pictures from our road trip.

tgcwillbedrunkhere.jpgEditors Note: Thanks to tips from TexasGal and PeteJayhawk we’ll be visiting the following establishments on Saturday.  Pre-Game: Murphy’s Bleachers Patio.  Post-Game: The Sports Corner, and The Cubby Bear. -TGC

If they put a camera on you, bean the frat guy with a peanut. Or, you could do what one of my friends did once – he picked up a beetle he saw crawling on the ground and put it on the guy’s shirt very gently. We watched it slowly crawl up toward his neck – we were dying. When it got there, he did the classic flailing and smacking of his own head. Good times.

that one is definitely going on the to-do list Extra P.

this is why you are the Yoda

  3. TheGoldfishCowboy Says:

So far the attendees list is TGC, 2ndStoryLloyd, and BobWicket, am I correct?

  4. BobWicket Says:

You’ll keep calling me, he’ll keep calling me until I come over. You’ll make me feel guilty. This is uh… This is ridiculous, ok I’ll go, I’ll go, I’ll go, I’ll go, I’ll go. What – I’LL GO. Shit.

  5. Extra P. Says:

I’m only sorry I won’t be there. I’m going up on July 4th to meet up with my old college buddies. I don’t think all four of us have been in the same city for more than a decade.

  6. TheGoldfishCowboy Says:

+1 Bob for tying it all together.

Extra P – we’ll try to leave some beer in the city, but I make no promises…

True story: “Last time we all met in Chicago, we sat at a little cafe North on Clark the night before the game listening to a few bands… when 2SL ordered another round of Miller Lites, the waitress said ‘I’m sorry, we’re out, you guys drank it all.'”

    So… no promises

  7. Extra P. Says:

    Wow… you drank it all

Hopefully the bar has restocked its miller lite since our last visit. But perhaps I’ll give them a call just to let them know we will be returning

There’s always High Life to be had if the Lites run out. And Bob, thanks for holding it down for me since I can’t make the trip.

Outstanding – The Sports Corner used to be (and probably still is) owned by a really great guy who produces some of the best chili in the city.

If you’re still upright, head south a block or two to the Blarney Stone at the corner of Clark and Newport, which is where I worked for a bit and is home to some pretty friendly folks and cheap-ish drinks.

The Irish Oak – a few doors south on Clark – is also a big winner in my book.

  13. TheGoldfishCowboy Says:

thanks MRS, will have to try those
