2008 Oakland A’s Season Blog, The Exodus (23-19)

By eDayStat

Well good gosh damn.  Two runs.  In a series.  That’s pretty pathetic for a team that’s whole ball club is built around maximing their ability to score runs.

You have to give it to Cleveland for pitching tough for the series, but that’s not what got the A’s in this series.  It was Eastern Standard Time.  That’s right, the A’s started off the year 5-1 on Eastern time, and they were due to take a few beatings.  And they did.

The loss drops the A’s to 23-19 on the season and puts them a full game back of the Angels.  They head down I-75 to do battle with the Braves this weekend.  Expect a lot of references to old A’s favorites over the weekend and please, please get two of three this weekend boys.  Sunday should be a lock from the pitching matchup, but the first and second games should be a coin toss.  Here’s hoping we get a little lucky.  Until then, enjoy the games, enjoy some brews, and most importantly, if you snag a Kurt Suzuki bobble head doll and want to unload it, e-mail me pronto.

Did you know: Suzuki is the name of a Japanese automobile manufacturer and means “genitalia.”
