So after 4 solid months of college football what did we find out Monday night? That Kentucky beat the National Champions. Now I know Les tried to make a lot of excuses for that loss and Kentucky happened to be playing out of their minds at the time, but that is a serious statement.
No, Kentucky was not the best football team in the nation this year. They got Croomed for goodness sake. But for one day in Lexington they were better than the best team in the nation.
Although the final record is the exact same for 2007’s team as 2006 this team accomplished so much more. 8-5, defended their Music City Bowl champeenship, and beat the team that finished atop college football when all was said and done. That’s a pretty good resume for any team, and we’d like to salute Woodson, Woodyard, and the mighty D.L.J. Good run boys and good luck in all that you go on to do. And Lyons, I expect at least 35 touchdown catches next year.

Is winning the Music City Bowl in back-to-back years comparable to repeat NIT Basketball championships?

I am a lifelong subscriber to the school of “my team beat your national champion team therefore we are better.” Speaking of being Croomed, can we start a support group? I wouldn’t mind taking a field trip to Starksville or Starksburg or Taintstick or wherever the hell those cowbell toting goatrapers live and burning it all to the ground.
